The Gospel of Matthew
Matthew Chapter 5:9
by Christopher John Joseph
A pacifist follower of Jesus of Nazareth.
Jesus said, " Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God."
Note ~ The Divine Loving Creator is not a God of war but of Peace. As Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you." Firstly, we must make peace within ourselves. If we are at war, or enmity with the Divine Creator, we cannot be a Divine Child of His and we will never find true Peace. If we are practicing ways that are not His Ways, we are not His children. As Jesus said, "the son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do; for whatever things He does, these the son does also."
Jesus was never violent towards anyone. As He only does what the Father does, then the Divine Creator also can never be violent towards anyone. As He was being arrested and taken by force to be crucified, one of His followers drew a sword and cut off the ear of one of the angry crowd that came to take Him. But Jesus rebuked His own follower saying, "Put your sword back into its place, for all they that take up the sword, shall perish by the sword."
Jesus was being unjustly attacked by those who hated Him, and the Truth He was sharing about the Divine Loving Creator, and His Spiritual Ways. But He did not retaliate or tell His followers to attack them, to protect His physical life. That is because, He had been born again into Spirit, while still in the flesh. He was now at one with His Soul in Spirit, empowered by the Divine Love of our Creator, that never dies. He was peaceful in the face of violence. If we partake in violence, we are only adding fuel to the fire of suffering. Instead, we should pour forth the water of Divine Love from within us onto the fire. This does not mean, that their fire will be extinguished, as they have to discover this wellspring of Divine Love within themselves, to accomplish that.
But how can the Way of Heaven be shown to others through us, if we only retaliate in kind? It will only reinforce the wrong way of the beast of the flesh, that they have chosen to live out of. These are what can be called, satanic forms. A false ego identity, that has no True Spiritual substance within, and consequently, no real Life. So, being a peacemaker is no easy task for followers of Jesus, in this often violent Earth world.
In this world as peacemakers, and Spiritual children of the Divine Loving Creator, we become physically vulnerable to the children gone astray, who have become at one with the beast of the flesh. Jesus clearly shows us this by His arrest. All flesh perishes, but all children born again into their Souls in Spirit, like Jesus was, will have Life eternal, after the death of their temporary physical body. As Jesus said, "the flesh profits nothing, it is the Spirit that gives Life."
As followers of Jesus, peacemakers, and Spiritual children of the Divine Loving Creator, we must have a strong belief in the Heavenly Spiritual world. And maintain inner Spiritual courage, empowered by His Divine Love, within our Soul in Spirit. We must be a counter-force against all the evil in this Earth world. That is why we all need to understand the Way of Jesus, and become like Him. By allowing His words to enter our Souls, we become alive to our True identity, as Spiritual children of the Divine Loving Creator. This can transform us into a living Light of Peace in the darkness of this world. And the more children who transform, the more Peaceful this world will become. ~
